1. Information we collect
- Quote requests and messages. When you request quotes or contact a business through the Service, we collect your name, phone number, email, the property address or ZIP code, and your answers about the job.
- Consent records. With each request we record the consent wording you saw, which companies you chose, the date and time, your IP address, browser, and the page you were on. This record proves what you agreed to and is kept unchanged.
- Phone calls. If you call a tracking number shown on the Service, we receive your phone number and call details, and calls may be recorded (you'll hear a notice first) for quality and billing purposes.
- Business listings. Many listings are built from public sources — Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation license records, OpenStreetMap, Overture Maps open business data, and businesses' own websites — before the business claims them. We don't publish street addresses taken from license records.
- Business accounts. When a business owner signs in or claims a listing, we collect their email address and, for phone verification, send a one-time code to the listing's phone number.
- Reviews. Ratings and review text submitted via a single-use, emailed invitation.
- Information collected automatically. Device, browser, IP address, pages viewed and similar usage data collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 4).
2. How we share your quote request
You choose who receives your request. On the quote form you check the companies that may contact you; every box starts unchecked, and a request goes to no more than three companies. A request may go to:
- Companies you name. The businesses you check on the form, or the one business you contact from its profile page.
- A partner network, only if you check that box. These companies, listed on our Partner network page, match homeowners with local contractors and pay us when they accept a request. Before you check the box, they receive no information about you; to decide whether to accept a request they see only details such as the type of job, ZIP code and timing.
Companies that receive your request may call, text or email you about it, as described in the consent wording on the form. Each company handles your information under its own privacy practices. After you submit, we email you a confirmation naming every company that received your request, and you can see the same list on your request's status page.
Sale of personal data. Because a partner network pays us when it accepts a request you chose to send it, that sharing may be a “sale” of personal data under Texas law. You can avoid it simply by not checking the partner box, and you can ask us not to sell your information in the future (Section 7).
3. How we use information
- To run the directory and deliver your request to the companies you chose.
- To send you transactional emails, such as your request confirmation.
- To route and connect calls placed to numbers shown on the Service.
- To authenticate business owners and verify listing claims.
- To check that a phone number is valid and to rate request quality.
- To measure usage, and to detect and prevent fraud, abuse and security issues.
We don't text you marketing messages, and we don't sell your information to data brokers.
4. Cookies, analytics & advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies for (a) strictly necessary purposes, such as keeping business owners signed in; (b) analytics; and (c) advertising on some guide pages.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the Service is used. See Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Advertising (Google AdSense). Some guide pages show ads served by Google and its partners, which may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising via Google Ads Settings and at aboutads.info.
5. Service providers
We use providers that process data on our behalf: hosting and database (Supabase, on our own servers), email delivery (Resend), phone numbers, call routing, phone verification and number lookups (Twilio), payments for business plans (Stripe), and analytics/advertising (Google). We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger or sale of the business.
6. Data retention
We keep quote requests and consent records for as long as needed to show what was agreed to and to resolve disputes, and other information for as long as needed to provide the Service or meet legal obligations, then delete or de-identify it. Single-use links and codes expire automatically.
7. Your rights and choices
Texas residents and residents of other states with privacy laws may have the right to access, correct, delete or get a copy of their personal data, and to opt out of its sale, targeted advertising and certain profiling. To make a request — including to opt out of any future sale — email privacy@houston365.comwith the email address or phone number you used. We'll respond within 45 days, and you may appeal a decision by replying to our response. To stop a company that received your request from contacting you, ask that company directly — and you can always reply STOP to its texts.
Business listings. If you own a listed business you can claim and edit the listing, stop forwarded inquiries using the link in any forwarded email, or ask us to remove the listing at hello@houston365.com.
8. Children
The Service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.
9. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date. A request is always governed by the consent wording shown when you submitted it.
